GORDON FOWLER
TREASURER
Earned B.A. in microbiology from the University of Tennessee in 1984. He worked as a lab technician and later as a carpenter. Married Ellen Bush in 1985, and became a full time stay-at-home-dad to their three children in 1989. Has been turning wood since 2002, learning the craft from classes, videos, mentors, and many hours of trial and error at the lathe. Gordon loves the symmetry and symbolism of circles, and is inspired by the patterns and contrasts found in nature. Since their kids have grown, they moved from Fountain City to 15 acres in east Knox County where, in addition to house and yard work, he spends his time at the lathe, in the kitchen, tending to the chickens, enjoying outdoor sports, and volunteering.
